Personalized In-Depth Relationship Coaching Available from Anywhere

Online therapy and couples counseling and coaching
from the comfort and privacy of your own home.

Life and relationships are complex. Sometimes the weight of what you're carrying, in yourself, in your partnership, in your daily life, becomes too much to hold alone. Whether you're navigating a season of personal growth, a relationship in crisis, or the quiet ache of feeling disconnected from yourself or your partner, therapy and mental health coaching can help.

Virtual therapy makes it possible to do deep, meaningful, transformative work — no matter where you are in Illinois.
Personalized mental health coaching makes it possible to experience transformation from wherever you are.

Who is this for?

You might be a good fit for virtual therapy and coaching if you:

  • Live outside of the Naperville area but want to work with a specialized couples or individual therapist who is also a mental health and relationship coach

  • Have a demanding schedule that makes in-person appointments difficult

  • Prefer the comfort, convenience, and privacy of working from home

  • Are in a relationship where coordinating schedules for in-person sessions feels overwhelming

  • Want access to a Gottman Level 3 trained therapist and certified Daring Way™ facilitator through Brené Brown’s organization, The Daring Way™ without geographic limitations

  • Desire working in depth with an experienced and multi-faceted trained psychotherapist and coach who incorporates a systemic lens, attachment-oriented, depth psychology from an integrative and transpersonal framework. A psycho-spiritual-somatically informed therapist who knows there is no one-size-fits-all approach when it comes to deep, lasting transformation

What we’ll work on in Individual Virtual Therapy or Individual Coaching

Virtual individual therapy or coaching with Lisa is an exploratory, depth-oriented experience. Together we'll move beneath the surface, into the unconscious and subconscious layers of who you are, why you do what you do, and what you truly need to feel grounded, secure, and alive.

Drawing on integral and transpersonal psychology, trauma-informed care, somatic awareness, and the works of Carl Jung, Brené Brown, Sue Johnson, and others, our work together creates space for genuine transformation, not just symptom relief.

What we’ll work on in
Virtual Couples Therapy or Virtual Couples Coaching

Virtual couples therapy and coaching is just as powerful as in-person work — and for many couples, the accessibility makes it easier to show up consistently, which matters enormously in relationship healing.

As a Gottman Level 3 trained therapist and creator of Create a Conscious Marriage™, I help couples move from cycles of conflict, distance, and disconnection into a relationship that feels safe, intimate, and deeply alive. Whether you're in crisis or simply longing for more, we'll build the skills, awareness, and emotional foundation your relationship needs to thrive.

How it Works

Getting started is simple:

Sessions are held via a HIPAA-compliant, secure video platform. All you need is a private space and a reliable internet connection.

With 20 years of experience as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (MS, LMFT), I bring Gottman Level 3 certification, Brené Brown's The Daring Way™ certification, and training in trauma-informed care, psycho-spiritual, integral, and transpersonal psychology to every session. I am also the creator of Create a Conscious Marriage™, a framework for couples ready to build a deeply connected, conscious relationship.

Create a Conscious Marriage™

In addition to one-on-one therapy and coaching, I created Create a Conscious Marriage™ (CACM) — an online course for couples (and the individuals in them) who are ready to do real, lasting work on their relationship.

CACM is rooted in the same evidence-based approaches I use with private clients. It combines the same principles I use in sessions with couples from Gottman, Brené Brown, attachment science, and depth psychology with the radical honesty and warmth that has defined my practice for nearly two decades.

You can do it as a couple or on your own. Because change in a marriage often begins with one person who decides they're ready.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is virtual therapy as effective as in-person therapy?

Yes — research consistently shows that virtual therapy and coaching produce outcomes equivalent to in-person work for most concerns, including couples work. Many clients find the comfort of their own space actually helps them open up more easily.

Are sessions in-person or virtual?

Both! I offer in-person sessions at Tend Therapy Space in downtown Naperville, IL as well as virtual appointments throughout Illinois. When booking online, you'll see both "Virtual" and "Tend Washington Street" options — most sessions can be converted between the two.

What states are you licensed in?

I provide therapy to clients whose primary residence is in Illinois. I can provide mental health coaching to anyone, anywhere — regardless of location.

Do you accept insurance?

I do not accept insurance directly. In order to bill insurance, I would need to provide a formal diagnosis — and my work intentionally blends coaching and therapy models in a way that does not involve diagnosing clients. If you'd like to use insurance benefits, I work alongside a number of skilled clinicians at Tend Therapy Space in Naperville, IL, many of whom are in-network with BCBS PPO and United Healthcare plans. You can complete the New Client Form on the Tend website to explore that option.

What is the difference between therapy and coaching?

These two approaches can look and feel similar, but here's the key distinction I make: in psychotherapy, we grow and heal through exploration of what lies beneath the surface. In relationship and individual coaching, we grow and change through redirection and solutions. Many clients experience both in our work together.

How much do sessions cost?

  • 60-minute individual session: $225

  • 90-minute session: $337.50

  • Additional time is billed at $112.50 per 30 minutes

I ask that all clients keep a credit card on file to schedule. Credit cards, HSA, and FSA cards are all welcome.

How long are sessions?

I offer 30, 60, 90, and 120-minute sessions. You're welcome to book any combination on my online calendar depending on your needs.

What do I need for a virtual session?

A private, quiet space, a device with a camera and microphone (phone, tablet, or laptop), and a reliable internet connection. All sessions are conducted through SimplePractice, a secure, HIPAA-compliant platform.

What happens after I book?

I'll reach out within 48 hours to send you New Client Paperwork to complete before our first appointment. Everything is handled through SimplePractice, my secure client portal.
